CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team defeated DeSales University 7-2 Monday afternoon in MAC non-conference action.
The Flying Dutchmen improved to 8-4 with the victory while DeSales fell to 1-10.
LVC opened the match by winning all three doubles sets. Sophomore Sophia Kwon (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and junior Chris Jessen (Newfield, N.J./Woodstown) won 8-3 at first doubles while sophomores Jenny Larson (Kelso, Wash./Kelso) and Angie Petiak (Wapwallopen, Pa./Berwick) captured an 8-6 victory at second doubles. In addition, sophomore Amanda Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and freshman Alison Hartman (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg) picked up an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Jessen was a 6-2, 6-3 victor at the second flight, as she improved to 7-4 on the season. Petiak won 6-0, 6-2 at fourth singles while Larson came away with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the fifth slot, as each player stayed perfect at 3-0 this season. In her collegiate debut, Hartman won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Lebanon Valley continues its schedule on Tuesday when it visits Goucher (Md.) College in a non-conference match starting at 3 p.m.
