READING, Pa. – Senior Sherri Pursel (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) pounded a team-high 14 kills and the Lebanon Valley College volleyball team secured second place in the Commonwealth Conference after defeating Albright College 3-0 (30-24, 30-16, 30-26) on Tuesday evening.
With the win, Lebanon Valley (18-12) finished 5-2 in the Commonwealth Conference and earned the second seed in the upcoming Commonwealth playoffs. The Flying Dutchmen will now host third-seeded Moravian College in the Commonwealth semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the first game ever at the new LVC Gymnasium.
Junior Amanda Bahn (York, Pa./Spring Grove) posted 10 kills and nine digs while sophomore Lexi Horstman (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) added nine kills and nine digs. Freshman Natalie Goodfellow (York, Pa./Spring Grove) contributed five blocks while sophomore Katie Ferree (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) pitched in with 10 digs. Classmate Cat Roth (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) handed out 41 assists.
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Thursday when it visits York College at 7 p.m.
