ANNVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall College defeated Lebanon Valley 2-1 in a non-conference men's soccer game Wednesday afternoon at Herbert Field.
The Diplomats (2-8-1) snapped an eight-game winless streak and won for the first time since Sept. 6. Lebanon Valley (4-10-0) lost for the third match in a row and for the sixth time in its last seven games.
Senior Forrest Watson scored the game-winning goal in the 57th minute for F&M. Junior Wallace Eisenhauer provided the assist.
Eisenhauer also assisted on Franklin & Marshall's first goal, which was scored by senior Stephen Schneider in the 24th minute to give the Dips a 1-0 lead. LVC tied it up just over two minutes later when junior Brian Sapienza (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) posted his second goal of the season.
Senior Christian Koch (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) started the game in goal and saved five shots before leaving the game with an injury in the 69th minute. Classmate Taylor Reinhard (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) played the final 21:42 and came up with four saves.
Freshman Edward Stelz stopped two shots in goal to earn the win for F&M.
Lebanon Valley continues its seven-game homestand on Monday when it hosts Delaware Valley College in a MAC non-conference game.
