Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Freshman forward Nicole Dixon (Randallstown, Md./Woodlawn) posted her first career double-double with a team and career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 23 Lebanon Valley to a 85-57 victory over Marywood University Tuesday evening in non-conference women’s basketball action in Lynch Gymnasium.

In a solid overall performance, Dixon added three assists, two blocked shots and one steal in just 18 minutes of play. She shot 6-for-11 from the field and 4-for-6 from the foul line.

After taking a 30-20 lead into halftime, Lebanon Valley (7-1) blew the game open at the start of the second half. LVC outscored Marywood (4-3) 18-5 over the opening 8:50 of the second stanza to build an insurmountable 60-35 advantage.

Junior forward Natasha Pashchuk scored a game-high 17 points for the Pacers, but was held to just two points in the second half. Freshman forward Liz McGill notched a game-high 12 rebounds for Marywood.

LVC head coach Peg Kauffman made full use of her bench, as 10 different players saw at least 10 minutes of action. All 17 LVC players appeared in the game and 14 different players found their way into the scoring column.

Sophomore Jennifer Northcott (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) recorded her third straight double digit scoring performance with 14 points. She also had eight rebounds and three blocks.

Lebanon Valley scored 30 points off 26 Marywood turnovers. The Valley also recorded 10 blocks, the third time the team has reached double figures in rejections this season.

After trailing by eight (23-15) with 10:01 left in the first half, the Pacers put together a 13-4 run and took a 28-27 lead following a pair of free throws by senior guard Kelly Clark with 2:48 to go. But a fast-break jumper by Northcott keyed an 11-0 LVC run as the Valley assumed the lead for good.

Lebanon Valley resumes its non-conference schedule and opens a four-game road trek when it visits Gettysburg College at 2 p.m. on Saturday in LVC’s first road game since Nov. 26.
