Lamplugh, Rumbley Score Twice in Women’s Soccer Victory

ANNVILLE, Pa. – First-year student Kate Lamplugh (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) and senior Dawn Rumbley (Churchville, Md./C. Milton Wright) scored two goals apiece, leading the Lebanon Valley College women’s soccer team to a 7-1 non-league win over Lycoming College Tuesday evening in LVC’s home opener at Herbert Field.

Lebanon Valley won for the third time in a row to open the 2002 season while Lycoming dropped to 0-2-0.

Junior Kim McDonald (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey), sophomore Heather Runkle (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) and junior Katie Altemose (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) each notched one goal in the winning effort. Altemose and Runkle added a pair of assists apiece.

The Dutchmen out-shot the Warriors 19-3.

Junior Stacey Delano (Minotola, N.J./Buena Regional) earned the victory in goal for the Valley. Delano made two saves and did not allow a goal in 56:30 to improve to 2-0-0 on the season. First-year student Jess Conrad (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) made a pair of saves and gave up one goal in 33:30 of action.

LVC travels to Division II Kutztown University in another non-league affair on Tuesday in a 4 p.m. start.
