READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won three of six singles matches and two out of three doubles matches to come away with a 5-4 win over Albright in Commonwealth Conference women’s tennis Saturday afternoon.
In singles action, LVC continued to perform well at the bottom of the lineup. Junior Kelly Stauffer (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) posted a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles to improve to 5-2 on the season while sophomore Chris Jessen (Newfield, N.J./Woodstown) picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles and bumped her record to 6-3. First-year student Sophia Kwon (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) captured a 6-1, 6-2 win at sixth singles to up her record to 4-1.
At No. 2 doubles, junior Kristen Barone (Womelsdorf, Pa./Tulpehocken) teamed up with Jessen for an 8-6 win. Stauffer and senior Robyn Sotak (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) won 8-3 at third doubles.
The Valley returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Susquehanna University for a 4 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
