CHESTER, Pa. – Junior Jen Selin (Pickerington, Ohio/Fallston) scored the game-winning goal on an assist from senior Sarah Dietrich (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) with just 2:49 left in the game and the No. 8 Lebanon Valley College field hockey team won its Commonwealth Conference opener by a count of 2-1 Saturday afternoon.

Lebanon Valley ran its record to 5-1 while Widener fell to 2-4.

Widener drew first blood, as Ashley Civitarese converted on a feed from Christina Blanco with 13:37 to go in the first half. But sophomore Stephanie Kraft (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) supplied the equalizer for the Flying Dutchmen three and a half minutes later with her third penalty-stroke goal of the season.

First-year student Carla Reavis (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood) made eight saves in goal and upped her record to 5-1 for the season. Lisa Mohrmann also made eight stops for the Pioneers.

LVC takes a break from its conference schedule when it travels to Alvernia College in a 4 p.m. start on Tuesday.
