LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall College women’s volleyball team defeated Lebanon Valley College 3-1 in non-conference action Wednesday evening in the Mayser Center.

The Diplomats (6-3) won by scores of 30-18, 30-19, 25-30 and 30-27.

First-year student Lexi Horstman (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) paced LVC (8-5) with nine kills. Junior Sherri Pursell (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) added eight kills, 10 digs and two service aces. First-year student Catherine Roth (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) dished out 19 assists while sophomore Amanda Bahn (York, Pa./Spring Grove) contributed 12 digs.

LVC will host the Dutchman Tournament beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Valley is scheduled to take on Ursinus College at 9 a.m. and Penn State-Altoona at 1 p.m. in pool play. The semi-final match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. with the championship match slated at 5:30 p.m. St. Mary’s College (Md.), King’s College and Mt. Aloysius College will also participate in the tournament.
