ANNVILLE, Pa. – In today's sweep over Widener University, Lebanon Valley College's senior
Sam Rill (Lebanon, Pa./Annville-Cleona) pitched LVC to a 2-0 victory in game one and then smacked a walk-off grand slam in the twilight to star again. With the wins, the Valley halted its seven-game skid and started its own mini win streak.
In the first game, Rill scattered three hits over seven innings while striking out seven to lead LVC (16-18, 2-12 Commonwealth) to a 2-0 victory. She went 1-for-2 at the plate and gave herself an insurance run in the sixth when she sacrificed home senior
Jamie Bailey (Denver, Pa./Cocalico). Bailey tripled to start the inning.
The nightcap saw Rill crush a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift LVC to a 6-2 win. Rill batted 2-for-5 for the game and drove home five runs. She put the Valley on the scoreboard by scoring freshman
Chris Jessen (Newfield, N.J./Woodstown) in the third inning to make the game 2-1.

Krissy Wardrop (West Chester, Pa./Downingtown) tied the game at two with a fielder's choice RBI that brought infreshman
Ilyse Resnick (Holland, Pa./Council Rock).
Freshman
Melissa Ulrich (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) allowed no runs in three innings of relief for freshman
Michelle Norman (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon). Norman had one K and allowed two hits in three innings.
The Valley will finish its season at home with a doubleheader against King's College on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
