Chris Branch was named the MAC Men's Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week after he made 63 saves in a weekend split with King's as the Dutchmen returned to the ice after the semester break. The senior started the weekend with 30 saves in a 5-1 victory in Pittston, where LVC had a slim 32-31 shot advantage. Branch made 13 saves in the first period, six in the second, and then stopped 11 out of 12 shots in the third period. The goalie then had 33 saves in Saturday's 5-4 Monarch victory. He stopped 11 out of 12 shots in the first period, nine in the second, and all 13 shots he faced in the third.
