Maddy Gronback was named the MAC Freedom Softball Player of the Week after she had four multi-hit games to lead the Dutchmen to a pair of road sweeps at Scranton and DeSales in the final week of the regular season. The senior slashed .600/.563/.867 with nine hits, including two doubles and one triple, three runs batted in, and two runs scored. Gronback began the week with a two-RBI double to left field to start the scoring in the first inning of a 9-5 victory at Scranton. She then knocked in another run in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly to right. The catcher added two more hits, including a triple, in game two, where she came around to score a run in a thrilling 3-2 eighth inning victory. Gronback finished the week with five hits in a doubleheader sweep at DeSales. The senior had two hits in a 4-1 game one victory, and then went 3-4 in game two, an exciting 1-0 victory. Her seventh-inning single put the game-winning run in scoring position.
