Holly Grube was named the MAC Freedom Softball Player of the Week after she had four hits in six at-bats to lead the Dutchmen to a split in the first two games of the season. Grube went 2-3 with two putouts and two assists in the field during a 4-0 defeat to Alma in the season opener. The sophomore then knocked in two runs on two hits and hit a fourth-inning solo home run to give the Dutchmen a 5-0 lead in a 5-3 victory over Marian. Grube also earned the win in the pitching circle, throwing 4.1 innings with one strikeout.
