LVC Field Hockey Stadium

Field Hockey Stadium

Opened: 2001
Capacity: 250+
Surface: Natural

The host site of the 2003 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship, the LVC Field Hockey Stadium has given the Dutchmen a remarkable home-field advantage since its debut in 2001.

Between 2001 and 2009, LVC was 85-15 at home, including a perfect 11-0 in 2009. In addition to hosting the 2003 championships, the stadium has twice held NCAA regional play, in 2006 and 2007, and hosted NCAA first-round games in 2008 and 2009. LVC went 6-0 in those games.

With seating for 250 fans and grass berms surrounding the field that can hold hundreds more, the Dutchmen have enjoyed fantastic fan support and are perennially among the national leaders in attendance, ranking in the top 10 in Division III in each of the past four seasons.

The stadium was built on the site of LVC’s former baseball stadium, next to the former field hockey stadium. The old field hockey pitch is now a dedicated practice facility for the Dutchmen and is kept to the same standards as the competition field, and can be used for competition, practice, and clinics.

The LVC Field Hockey Stadium is expected to be retired in 2012 as the team moves next door to a new artificial turf facility at Arnold Field.
