ANNVILLE, Pa. - Ninety-nine current and former Lebanon Valley College student-athletes have received degrees during the College's 142nd Commencement on Saturday.
Eighty-nine student-athletes earned their bachelor's degrees (including those from the class of 2010 who received them in December 2010), while nine athletic alumni received their doctor of physical therapy degrees and one a master's of business administration.
Of the 89 undergraduate degree recipients, 34 graduated with honors, including eight
summa cum laude, 14
magna cum laude, and 12
cum laude. Student-athletes earned six departmental honor awards, and two - swimming's Ashten O'Brien and ice hockey/men's lacrosse's Rich Drazin - were named the Graduating Student Leaders of the Year. O'Brien, as class and student government president, also spoke and presented the senior class gift.
Athletically, the senior class goes down as perhaps the most accomplished in LVC history. Combined over four years, they had an 818-548-12 overall record, winning seven team conference championships with 13 NCAA team berths and two NCAA individual appearances. Six All-Americans also walked across the stage.
