Frey graduated Lebanon Valley with a degree in education. He was a member of the “L” Club and was best known for his basketball abilities. He broke a league record in 1938 scoring 34 points in a game against Ursinus. In March 1938 he broke a season league record by scoring a total of 190 points overall.
