ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the second season in a row, Lebanon Valley men's basketball player
Will Boccanfuso has been named LVC's Judge John Walter Defensive Player of the Year.
The award, given annually to LVC's top defensive player, was inaugurated in 2005-06 to honor the late Judge John Walter '53, who was a longtime and dedicated supporter and public address announcer for the men's basketball program.
After turning in a breakout 2015-16 campaign that saw him earn MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week honors as a sophomore, Boccanfuso was once again a key contributor during his junior season. The 2016-17 team captain started all 26 games in which he appeared and ranked second on the team with 1.3 steals per game and 3.8 rebounds per contest. He also averaged 5.7 points and 1.5 assists per outing this winter.
Boccanfuso netted a season-high 19 points against Alvernia in December and recorded a double-double with 11 points and 16 boards against Misericordia in November.
