How It Happened
GRANTHAM, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's soccer team played the No. 5 team in the country very tough, but Messiah came away with a 2-0 lead to advance to the MAC Commonwealth Championship game against the second-seeded Arcadia Knights this Saturday. The Dutchmen's season ended with a 12-6 record, while the Falcons improved to 16-2.
6:44 into the first half, LVC gave up an own-goal when an attempted errant pass by the Dutchmen defense found its way into the back of the net to give the Falcons an early 1-0 advantage. LVC kept Messiah's potent offense in check until the 31st minute when Erin Sollenberger stole ball and scored, making it 2-0.
The Dutchmen offense saw a few chances in the second half but were held off the scoreboard. LVC's defense kept the Dutchmen in it in the second half, not allowing the Falcons to score.

What They're Saying
"We played our hearts out tonight," said LVC head coach
Todd Hoffard. "I am so happy for them all… It's never easy to lose, but if we do, it's easier to swallow when you leave it all on the field. We played well and are making progress each year. The future continues to be bright for this program. We will certainly miss our senior class for sure, but they have provided such a great foundation for us all to continue to build on!"
