How It Happened
Lebanon Valley shut out Albright in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament Play-In Game to advance to the semifinal round on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against the No. 1 seed Messiah. The Dutchmen jumped to 12-5, while the Lions dropped to 10-8-1.

In the 63rd minute of the second half, Teanna Shutt ripped a shot that was saved by Albright's Alexis Tunney, but the rebound went off Tunney's finger tips and right to the feet of Meghan Ross, who scored to break the tie and make it 1-0.

With seven and half minutes left in the match, the Lions got their best scoring opportunity of the afternoon. Albright's first shot was saved by a diving Taylor Reinhold and the rebound came right to a Lions forward who shot it with Reinhold still on the ground. Fortunately, Kristina Gorton made a huge defensive save to keep the Dutchmen up by one.

The Lions saw a few chances after, but LVC's defense kept Albright from scoring to preserve the shutout victory.

Inside the Numbers
 - LVC dominated in shots at 18-9, but shots on goal were all square at 7-7.
 - Reinhold earned her 12th win of the season and made seven saves, while Albright's Tunney made seven stops.
 - The Dutchmen led in corners at 6-3.

Bring on the Falcons
LVC will now take on the country's No. 5 ranked team, Messiah, in the conference semifinal round in Grantham at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, with the winner advances to Saturday's final. The Falcons defeated LVC 4-0 back on Oct. 1.
