ANNVILLE, Pa. – Junior Jordann Ferguson and freshman Josh Ferguson tallied two goals apiece and each notched an assist in a 5-0 victory for LVC men's soccer over Centenary (N.J.) on Saturday afternoon at Herbert Field.
Following a 1-0 halftime lead on a first-half goal by sophomore Cam Alexander, the Ferguson brothers decided it was time to take over, connecting on four goals in less than 13 minutes to end the game with a 5-0 scoreline. Sophomore Curtis Washburn also added an assist on the final goal of the day.
The Dutchmen were dominant for most of the contest, holding an edge in many statistical categories. LVC held a 22-9 edge in shots and a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. The game also allowed head coach Charlie Grimes to use the majority of his bench players, giving those players necessary game experience.
With the second win of the weekend, the Valley took the Lebanon Valley College Invitational Championship. Included in this tournament were LVC, Susquehanna, St. Joseph's College (L.I.) and Centenary (N.J.).
Next up for the Dutchmen is a trip Cabrini on Sept. 6 for a matchup at 4 p.m. LVC returns home on Sept. 14 for a meeting with Moravian at 3 p.m. at Herbert Field.
