HERSHEY, Pa. - In preparation for the sixth annual Pink Game, the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team paid a visit to the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute Friday afternoon.

Members of the team, as well as head coach Todd Goclowski and program supporter Dr. Jeanne Donlevy Arnold, visited the outpatient and inpatient wings of the treatment center. Team members signed autographs and held conversations with a number of patients, doctors, and nurses, to get a first-hand perspective on the research and treatment methods used at the hospital and how donation money is used.

“It's inspiring to visit with the doctors and patients on the front lines in the battle against cancer," Goclowski said. "It definitely inspires our team to grow our Pink Game now and into the future. Experiencing that cutting edge technology and treatment opens our eyes and helps integrate the education our student-athletes receive at Lebanon Valley.”

“Something like this does make it seem like a more important game," said senior forward Liz Borgia. "For me, personally, I saw someone go through the cancer process, and I know how important it is. It puts into perspective on a daily basis what some people go through. It shows us what we're working and fighting for.”

The Pink Game will take place Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society of Lebanon.
