Lebanon Valley 2, Albright 0
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley opened conference play with a 2-0 win over Albright at home Saturday in a match that could've taken on a completely different look with a few different bounces.
The Dutchmen finished with a staggering 38-3 shot advantage with 19 shots in each half. Scoring was limited by Albright goalie Kelly Burian, who made 19 saves.
Heather Tran and
Nicole Snyder accounted for half of the Dutchmen attack with a combined 19 shots but neither scored.
Stevi Laird put the team on the board in the 52
nd minute, netting a ball off a cross from
Amanda Douglass for her first goal of the season.
Tran was credited with the assist on LVC's second goal – a beautiful finesse shot taken by
Lindi Crist into the left side of the goal. Tran set a perfect diagonal through ball to keep the defense off balance, and Crist scored her first of the year.
Sami Young played 90 minutes in goal for her third win. She made saves on each of Albright's three shots.
The Dutchmen continue conference play at home Tuesday, when they'll host Stevenson at 4 p.m.
