Lebanon Valley 65, Elizabethtown 51
ANNVILLE, Pa. - #17 Lebanon Valley played big in front of their largest crowd of the season at the fifth annual Pink Game against Elizabethtown Wednesday night, topping the third-place Blue Jays, 65-51, in front of 1,465 to remain undefeated in conference play with three games to go in the regular season.
The Blue Jays (14-7, 7-4 CC) came out firing in the first half. They sank four three-pointers in the first 10 minutes en route to an 18-12 lead with 10:49 on the clock.
LVC (20-2, 11-0) began to take control inside the nine-minute mark when
Kiely Chaklos sank a pair of free throws to open an 8-0 run. That run extended to a 17-2 rally highlighted by six points from
Caitlin Bach to put the Dutchmen up 31-23 with 2:59 to play in the half.
They allowed just two points in the final three minutes and headed to the break up 31-25.
Tierney Hiltz and
Caitlin Murphy pieced together a 7-0 stretch that gave LVC a 46-32 lead with 14:01 to play. Minutes later, the Dutchmen went on a 15-1 run that gave them their largest lead of the game at 61-40. Fritz and Chaklos each contributed four points.
The team played balanced basketball without mistakes in the final minutes to seal the win.
Hiltz had a team-high 18 points to improve to 11.6 points per game. Three other LVC players joined her in double-digit scoring: Chaklos (12), Bach (11), and Fritz (10).
Bach narrowly missed a double-double with eight rebounds.
Fritz tied a Pink Game record with three blocks on the night. She's recorded three blocks in four games this season and is averaging 1.2 per game.
LVC hosts Albright Saturday at 4 p.m. for Senior Day.
