John Haus has named senior
CJ Adams and juniors
Ian Schmid and
Steve Wildberger as captains for the 2012 season.
The trio will lead the Dutchmen (6-10 in 2011) into their third season of varsity competition when they begin Feb. 28 at Arnold Field against Randolph-Macon College.
Adams is a third-year captain who also served as a leader for the program's inaugural season in 2010 and again in 2011. He was named team MVP last season, starting in midfield and scoring 16 goals with three assists while grabbing 37 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers.
Schmid has started every game at midfield in his career, scoring nine goals last year with 11 assists and 16 goals and 15 assists as a freshman in 2010, including LVC's first-ever goal. Last season, he also had 14 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.
Wildberger, a defensive midfielder, scored a goal with two assists last season. Defensively, he had 39 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers.
