ANNVILLE, Pa. - Senior running back
Ben Guiles has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his record-setting five-touchdown game against Gettysburg on Saturday.
Guiles scored four rushing touchdowns and caught another as Lebanon Valley hung 57 points on Gettysburg. The preseason all-American ran for 143 yards on 16 carries, and had a career receiving game as well, catching four passes for 103 yards and a 57-yard touchdown that he created out of a short catch. His longest play of the day came on a 59-yard run in the second quarter, and he broke through four tackles to score on a 28-yarder later in the quarter.
The honor is Guiles' first offensive player of the week recognition, although he was the MAC's special teams player of the week in week 1 of 2009 after returning a kickoff for a touchdown against Gettysburg.
