D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-Americans
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Senior running back
Ben Guiles has picked up his third preseason all-America award for 2011, being named a first-team North offense pick by the D3 Senior Classic.
Earlier this summer, Guiles was named a second-team preseason all-American by both
d3football.com and Consensus Draft Services.
The D3 Senior Classic names outstanding seniors as part of a watchlist for their postseason all-star game, which included LVC's
Zach Bleiler '11 and
Jason Sneeringer '11 in 2010. Guiles was one of two running backs on the North first team, along with Wisconsin-Whitewater's Levell Coppage.
A first-team all-MAC selection last year, Guiles led the Middle Atlantic Conference with 1,330 yards rushing and an LVC-record 17 touchdowns in 2010. He ranked 16th in the nation in rushing while averaging 5.0 yards per carry on 268 touches. Guiles racked up seven 100+ yard games, including a career-high 262 against King's, and also tied a single-game program record with four touchdowns against FDU-Florham.
