UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley ice hockey team (0-4) faced the #4 Penn State Icers (1-0) Friday night at University Park, and left with a 12-1 loss.
As the Nittany Lions prepare to join the NCAA ranks at season's end, the Dutchmen fell again against a nationally-ranked opponent; three of LVC's losses have come against top-25 teams, with the other loss in a shootout to IUP.
Nick Schultz netted the only goal for the Dutchmen in the first period off assists from
Cole Bell and
Kyle Stewardson. The goal was Schultz's first of the season and the second power play goal for the Dutchmen this season.
LVC hosts Duquesne this Sunday at 2 p.m. It is the first time that the two teams have ever met.
