NCAA Champion Magazine Article
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College's innovative Body Armor program, an injury-prevention research collaboration between LVC's physical therapy program and the athletic department, was
recently profiled in the summer issue of
NCAA Champion magazine for its efforts to reduce non-contact injuries among student-athletes.
The program, developed by the PT department and headed by assistant professor of physical therapy Mike Lehr, uses preseason testing to analyze student-athletes' movement patterns and identify weaknesses that could lead to non-contact injuries. Student-athletes identified as "at risk" in testing can then be referred for treatment before a serious injury develops.
NCAA Champion is a quarterly magazine distributed for the NCAA membership nationwide, covering member schools, championships, and trends in college athletics.
