2009-10 All-Commonwealth Women's Tennis Teams
ANNVILLE, Pa. - For the second consecutive year,
Sarah Grodzinski has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year to lead three selections to the All-CC teams announced Friday.
Freshman
Lauren Fulmer was named a first-team selection along with Grodzinski, and junior
Shayna Heintzelman was named a second-team pick.
Grodzinski graduates as a four-time all-CC honoree and two-time player of the year after a sparkling career that saw her set the program singles wins record with a 75-10 career record. In 2009-10, the senior No. 1 compiled a 20-2 singles record and led Lebanon Valley to its third straight Commonwealth Conference championship match. She became the first player in LVC history to cross 100 combined wins with a 118-39 record, and she reached the final of the MAC No. 1 Individual Tournament bracket during the fall individual tournament as well.
Fulmer had a terrific debut season as LVC's most reliable win, playing mostly at No. 4 singles to 20-1 overall and an undefeated 19-0 in dual play. Fulmer was also 13-7 in doubles play, mostly at No. 2 with
Tam Lobb.
Heintzelman stepped up to No. 2 as a junior and delivered for the Dutchmen, going 17-4 in singles (16-3 in duals). In doubles, she teamed with Grodzinski at No. 1 to go 14-4, part of a 16-5 overall record.
