HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Lebanon Valley eased past Juniata, 7-2, in a non-conference women's tennis match on Friday.
The Dutchmen (16-1) won two of three doubles and five of six singles matches to top the Eagles (8-9).
Sarah Grodzinski and
Lauren Fulmer both moved to 17-0 this season in singles with wins at Nos. 1 and 4, respectively, but Grodzinski and
Shayna Heintzelman weren't so lucky at No. 1 doubles as they were dealt their first loss of the season by Katie Healy and Maggie Wolenter, 8-4, to drop them to 13-1.
Tamera Lobb and Fulmer beat Stacie Beegle and Lauren Perow at No. 2, 8-5, and
Morgan Brady and
Jess Ferlenda won 8-3 at No. 3 over Hilary Walsh and Rachel Adams.
In singles, Grodzinski survived a tough first set to beat Healy 7-5, 6-1, and Heintzelman bested Wolenter 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2. Lobb had the toughest match of the day but rallied from a set down to beat Beegle 5-7, 6-2, 10-3.
Fulmer blanked Perow at No. 4 and Brady beat Walsh 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5 to round out LVC's points. Adams got Juniata's lone singles win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 over Ferlenda.
