Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa.
- Red-hot Lebanon Valley stretched its winning streak to eight games with a complete doubleheader sweep of Penn State Berks, 11-1 and 13-5, Sunday at McGill Field.

The Dutchmen (10-3) have not lost since returning north for spring break as they rode strong complete-game pitching performances by Nate Blough and Jake Becker.

Blough (2-0) threw a gem in game one, striking out five and allowing five hits and a run, while Becker (1-1) went the distance in game two with three strikeouts and four earned runs allowed.

Grant Wiest and Jordan Witmer each drove in five runs to lead the offense as LVC put up big innings to shut down the Nittany Lions (4-8).

Game One

LVC broke the game open early with a three-run second and four-run third, both keyed by Witmer as the freshman catcher doubled in two runs and later scored on Ryan Schwartz's double in the third before singling in two more runs in the fourth.

The Dutchmen put the game away in the sixth with four more runs, starting with pinch-hitter Tom Rasich's RBI single and Colt Zarilla's triple to score another run. Wiest and Jacob Rhody drove in two more runs.

In the meantime, Blough was outstanding to the end, retiring eight straight after allowing Penn State Berks' only run in the third and giving up just one hit over the final four innings.

Game Two

Lebanon Valley continued its hot plate performance in the nightcap, taking advantage of five Penn State Berks errors.

After allowing a one-run top of the first, LVC answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning. Wiest drove in two with a single up the middle to start, and Rhody plated him with a single before Dustin Deibert scored him from first with a double. Witmer's bloopy sacrifice fly to the second baseman, playing in shallow right, capped the big inning.

Derek Brousseau started a three-run third with an RBI fielder's choice, and he and Conrad Heisey scored later in the inning after a throwing error on Heisey's stolen base sent the ball into centerfield.

The runs kept coming for the Dutchmen with threee in the fourth thanks to sac flies by Wiest and Diebert and a Heisey single, and two more in the fifth with Zarilla's second triple of the day to score Aaron Mills and another RBI for Wiest on a ground-out.

LVC will visit Ursinus on Wednesday.
