LVC Reveals 2010 Football Schedule

2010 Schedule

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Coming off the most successful season in program history at 9-2 overall with an ECAC Southwest Bowl championship, Lebanon Valley College will play seven home games as part of its 2010 football schedule.

The unusual slate will feature three straight non-conference opponents to start the season with Gettysburg, Grove City, and Moravian visiting Arnold Field.

The always tough MAC schedule will begin with defending champion Delaware Valley on the road, and home games against Wilkes, FDU-Florham, Widener, and the season finale against Albright will highlight the conference schedule. All games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Oktoberfest Weekend will take place Oct. 16 with FDU-Florham in town.

All dates and times are subject to change.

Game-By-Game Look

9/4 vs. Gettysburg College
For the 10th straight year, LVC and Gettysburg will meet in the season opener. LVC has won four of the last six in the series, including a memorable 47-42 win in Gettysburg in 2009.

9/11 vs. Grove City
LVC will meet Grove City for the first time since 1959 and second time ever as part of the first year of the PAC-MAC Challenge, which pits members of the Presidents' Athletic Conference against MAC opponents with the same finish in the 2009 standings. LVC will make a return trip in 2011.

9/18 vs. Moravian
The former conference foes meet for the 67th time in the final non-league game. Moravian will try to avenge a 32-3 loss to the Dutchmen in 2009.

10/2 at Delaware Valley
Lebanon Valley will start the MAC campaign against the defending champion and one of two teams to beat them in 2009. Del Val won, 28-7, in Annville last fall.

10/9 vs. Wilkes

LVC will try to make it three in a row against Wilkes after a tight 21-18 win in 2009. Ben Guiles ran for 187 yards in that game and LVC held Wilkes to just 168 yards of total offense.

10/16 vs. FDU-Florham

The Devils visit Annville for Oktoberfest Weekend looking to snap a five-game losing streak to the Dutchmen. Lebanon Valley had no trouble with a 40-14 win in Madison in 2009.

10/23 at King's

LVC's second road trip of the year will be to King's, who the Dutchmen defeated handily 40-14 last year behind 220 yards rushing combined by Charlie Parker and Ben Guiles.

10/30 vs. Widener

After shutting out the Pride 24-0 in 2009, LVC will look to keep up the defensive pressure as Widener comes to Arnold Field. Their last meeting in Annville was a memorable 20-13 LVC overtime win on Oktoberfest Weekend 2008.

11/6 at Lycoming

The road finale will see LVC visit Lycoming after a key 31-21 win last year. LVC has won three of the last four against the Warriors after 21 straight losses in the series.

11/13 vs. Albright

One of the most thrilling games in LVC history came in the regular-season finale at Albright last year when the Lions made a huge comeback to win 44-43 in two overtimes, securing an NCAA berth in the process. It will be the 90th meeting dating back to 1898.
