ANNVILLE, Pa. - A day after their female counterparts held the first lacrosse practice at Lebanon Valley College in a quarter-century, the men's lacrosse team got in on the action Monday, holding their first official practice at Rohland Fields.
Head Coach
John Haus and assistant
Dylan Sheridan got their first chance to work with the team, which was decked out in brand-new LVC helmets and practice jerseys.
The team spent about two hours working through conditioning, shooting, defensive, and clearing drills, all while getting used to playing together for the first time.
In October 2008, LVC announced it would bring back men's and women's lacrosse to begin play in the spring of 2010. Lebanon Valley had previously sponsored a men's team from 1965 to 1985 and a women's program from 1975 to 1985.
Check out a photo gallery from practice here. Both the men's and women's lacrosse teams will practice throughout the fall leading up to their playday on Oktoberfest Weekend Oct. 24, when both teams will scrimmage opponents at 10:30 a.m.
The LVC men will play their first game at Mt. St. Mary's (N.Y.) on March 6, 2010.
