2009 All-MAC Teams

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Twelve members of the Lebanon Valley College football team have been named all-Middle Atlantic Conference, including nine members of the first team, the MAC announced Tuesday.

LVC's offense had five first-teamers, including running back Charlie Parker, fullback Bryan Lynch, wide receiver Joe Brennan, right tackle Jason Sneeringer, and left tackle Sean Tetreault, while running back Ben Guiles and center Clint Surgeoner were named to the second team.

On defense, end Zach Bleiler and linebacker Will Keylor received first-team nods, joined by second-teamer Dane Eichelberger at strong safety.

Punter Colt Zarilla and kick returner Sean Donovan were selected first-team all-MAC as specialists.

Parker, a three-time first-team all-MAC selection, had another stellar season, becoming LVC's all-time leading rusher with 883 yards and 12 touchdowns. He now owns the LVC records for career yards (3,674), carries (798), and touchdowns (35). The senior ran for five 100-yard games this season and had four multi-touchdown games.

Lynch, a repeat first-teamer, was the primary blocker for LVC's top-ranked rushing unit, and was a valuable short-yardage back as well. He carried 44 times for 174 yards, scoring three times. Lynch was also named CoSIDA Academic All-Region earlier this season.

Brennan, a second-teamer last year, was one of the MAC's most dangerous wide-outs, a deep-ball threat who caught 36 passes for 712 yards. He averaged 19.8 yards per catch with nine touchdowns in 2009.

Sneeringer and Tetreault anchored the ends of an outstanding offensive line that helped LVC lead the MAC in rushing once again. Sneeringer, a second-teamer at right tackle last year, and Tetreault, a 2007 second-team and 2008 first-team pick, blocked for LVC's 220.3 ypg rushing attack, and also yielded just 13 sacks in 10 games this season.

Bleiler, a second-team all-MAC pick in 2008, had a dominating year on the defensive line, recording 10 sacks and 13.5 tackles for a loss overall among 50 stops. He also had two pass break-ups.

Keylor was LVC's leading tackler with 64 stops, including 12 for a loss and 3.5 sacks. An outstanding run stopper from the middle linebacker spot, Keylor recovered a fumble and also grabbed an interception against Lycoming.

Zarilla established himself as one of the MAC's top punters, averaging a MAC-best 38.8 yards per punt with 12 of his 32 tries put inside the 20. Three of his boots went over 50 yards, with a season-high of 60.

Donovan returned from injury in 2008 to post big numbers as a wide-out in 2009, but he was honored for his equally outstanding kick return skills. The fifth-year senior took 17 kick returns for an average of 24.3 yards, and also took 11 punt returns for a 7.5 yard average.

Guiles, a sophomore, helped provide an explosive one-two punch with Parker at running back. The shifty back compiled 875 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 6.6 yards per carry, which ranks among the nation's best. He turned in three 100-yard games this season.

Surgeoner was rock-solid again at center, as the third-year starter worked flawlessly with two quarterbacks. He, too, was a big part of LVC's top-ranked run game and deterred defenses in yielding only 13 sacks.

Eichelberger is a repeat second-teamer after making the move to strong safety from free safety a year ago. The junior piled up 36 tackles and snagged two interceptions, and also had half a sack with two tackles for a loss. He broke up eight passes total.
