MADISON, N.J. - #7 Lebanon Valley raced out to a 6-0 halftime lead as it rolled past FDU-Florham, 9-1, in non-conference play Thursday evening.
Jocelyn Novak,
Caitlin Vasey, and
Kirsten Martzall each scored a pair of goals for the Dutchmen (8-1), who held a 21-9 shots advantage over the Red Devils (3-8).
Shelly Lobach opened the scoring just 2:03 into the game with an unassisted strike, putting her at 97 career points, before Vasey scored the next two over a four-minute span. Novak tallied at 12:50, and
Kelsey Miller scored her first career goal at 20:22. Novak finished the first half with her second goal at 32:11.
Martzall opened the second half with two goals, the first of her career, and
Danielle Blase finished the rout with a goal at 51:09.
FDU's Lauren Fabrizio ruined the shutout with a goal at 53:23.
Caitlin Baro,
Christine Poletti, and
Kelly Flynn combined for the win, making six saves combined. Meghan O'Neil allowed four goals in 24:51 for FDU-Florham, and Kayleigh White gave up five in 45:09 of relief.
LVC will return home Saturday to face Stevenson at 11 a.m.
